COCKTAILS IN BLOOM – A POEM

We were dancing in the rain,
Our skin,
Immune to the pain,
Drift less dreamers,
Wandering through,
The Endless Strain.

We were there,
When the world began to fall,
We were standing in the hall,
Worshiping through the pain,
Drinking at noon,
I held your face in my hands,
In a dream,
A distant memory,
Drinking at half past three,
There in some dirty bar,
Whisked away,
Into a nightmare,
I feel your touch,
Against my skin,
Drifting away,
Calling my name,
As I stand alone,
Darkness drifting,
Rifting,
Where I become,
Nothing more,
Than a memory.
